In 2019, the UK’s average earnings went up by 2.9%. This means that the average person took home around £585 per week or around £30,420 a year. The studies show that people employed as managers, directors and senior officials generally earned the most. Although, those working in elementary jobs such as hospitality service workers were commonly the lowest paid. So, before you start commending or commiserating yourself – remember to take into consideration all the different factors.

Some industries are notoriously better paid, while others fail to play catch up. The average UK salary isn’t something to base your entire career around.
