Rest in peace Queen Elizabeth II, our Lilibut
This week Queen Elizabeth II, the UK’s longest-serving monarch, died at Balmoral aged 96. Having reigned for 70 years, we wake to a country in mourning, and King Charles the 3rd takes over. The incredible outpouring of tributes from across the world reflects just how loved our Queen really was. Here at Thompsons Lettings, we would like to thank her Majesty for her service to our country. As our longest-serving monarch we’re thankful for the way she dedicated her life to the service of this country.
Tributes from the housing market
Kate Henderson, chief executive of the National Housing Federation, led the housing tributes, saying: “National Housing Federation colleagues and I are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Her Majesty The Queen, who served the country tirelessly during her 70-year reign.
New housing secretary Simon Clarke wrote a tribute on his Facebook page, in which he called her a constant source of leadership, dignity, and grace.
“I will never forget her outstanding speeches during the Covid pandemic – “we will meet again” – and her wisdom was on display time and time again in her Christmas speeches, which reflected her deep Christian faith.
He added: “Tonight my particular thoughts are with King Charles, as he assumes extraordinary responsibility. God save the King.”
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and our condolences are with His Majesty King Charles III and the Royal Family at this time.
